Betsson AB applies for the Swedish iGaming license

Earlier this year there was a passage of the law that was set to deregulate the Swedish iGaming industry from next year.  Prominent online casino operative Betsson AB announced that they have applied for a license so that they can be able to give its services to gamblers in the Scandinavian nation.

Extensive history in Sweden

The Stockholm-listed Betsson AB declared that it has been offering gaming entertainment to casino gamblers in its home industry. This is since 1963 and that it hopes that the Swedish Gambling Authority gives permission to add iGaming to facility.
The Chief Executive Officer for Betsson AB, Pontus Lindwall, said that it was great that Sweden had approved legislation designed to open up the gambling market for free rivalry in a controlled environment. This was before describing yesterday’s license application as a great milestone for the industry and also his company.
“We look forward to being able to work in our home-based market as an accepted operator.”
Betsson AB revealed that it had unsuccessfully applied for Swedish iGaming license in 2006. Moreover, they explained that success this time around would see its list of local guarantees, which include jurisdictions like the United Kingdom and Denmark, Malta grow to twelve.
